Join Villa dos Irmâos and The Ocean Surf School’s surf camp in Portugal this spring!
If you want to learn how to surf or improve your wave catching skills in the blue Atlantic, this week is for you.
Together with Marcio and Filipe from The Ocean Surf School we will be doing one teacher led surf session a day. You will also be able to do as much practicing on your own as you want all around the world surf reserve of Ericeira. Europe’s number one emerging surf mecca.
Small Groups and Personal Attention
Since we only have ten spots available it will be a true surf camp vibe. Regardless of if you join the camp alone, with a friend or as a couple you will get to know everyone else. You will also receive lots of personal attention during the lessons. Quite the opposite to the offerings of the major surf camp companies.
The week suits beginners to intermediate surfers since we adjust the surf lessons to your previous experience. In the beginning of the week everyone will be divided into two groups according to their level. This way the lessons will be perfect for your level.
Meet Your Teachers
Marcio and Filipe are amazing surfers and amazing surf teachers. And as you will notice are they not only truly passionate about surfing. But also about the Ocean, so much that they decided to call their surf school The Ocean.
One of the many reasons that we decided to work with Marcio and Filipe is that all of our friends who’s learning to surf here in Ericeira, take their lessons with them. Our friends absolutely love it. And so will you.
Other Activities to Join
On top of surfing we will also organize plenty of other activities that you can choose to participate in. Why not join us and experience a perfect spring afternoon in the poetical atmosphere of Lisbon. Or tag along for an afternoon trip to the lush hills and majestic palaces of Sintra.
Two days of the week you will also have the opportunity to join our in house yoga teacher for a restorative flow class. And on the Friday you’ll have the option of joining for a wine tasting in a historic family run wine estate. Make sure to get a good taste of their delicious organic red.
Of course you can also always walk down to our beach with a book under your arm and soak up some Portuguese sun. Perfect for a well-deserved rest from the intensity of the waves. Or why not bring a volleyball and the rest of the crew with you and get a game going.
How Exactly Will a Typical Day Look Like?
You will wake up around 9 am in the morning (after all it’s a surf “holiday”). And at the same time as you get dressed you definitely will want to check out the waves of the day from the windows of the villa.
Once dressed, it’s time to join the other participants for a rich breakfast buffet and discuss yesterday’s biggest wipe outs and biggest waves. Around 11 Marcio will arrive. Be warned if he says 11, it may very well be 11.30. We’re on Portuguese time.
As Marcio and Filipe prefers teaching in a calm setting without the crowds, they will take you a bit further from the other surf schools and the crowded beaches. The lesson will start with theory. And most likely it will continue until you are pretty exhausted from all the waves you’ve been catching.
Once everybody is back home in the Villa one of your social hosts may cook he’s highly appreciated fish curry for lunch. As food always taste when you have been surfing, it will taste delicious.
In the afternoon depending on the day, you can choose to join one of our scheduled activities. Or just take time to do what you feel. And if you still have energy there will of course also be an option to join for a second surf session. Depending on what the ocean says and who wants to come, we will bring you to the most suitable beach where everyone can practice what they learned in the morning.
As The Sun Sets in The Bay Beneath Us
Later in the evening the day will be rounded of at our neighbor, the hugely popular Pizza Mobile restaurant. Or any of our other favorite restaurants. And if you have some energy left after the dinner, there are plenty of entertaining board games in the living room of the villa.
As we’re living with the time of the tides and the temper of the Ocean here in Ericera, times may vary 🙂
The Date and Price
Villa dos Irmãos Surf Camp Portugal takes place 17/5 – 24/5 2020. We will kick off the week with a communal Sunday dinner at the villa, and say our goodbyes during the following weeks Sunday breakfast.
For a spot in our four bed dorm, the price is 450 EUR. A bed in one of our shared basic double rooms goes for 550 Euros. And for the shared En Suite private, the price is 650 Euros.

- 6 Surf lessons + plenty of practicing on your own
- Unlimited access to surf boards and wet suits
- Transportation to and from the beach every day
- Transportation to Sintra, Lisbon and Quinta de Sant’Ana
- 2 restorative flow yoga classes
- Delicious big breakfasts everyday
- 3 seafood/vegetarian dinners + 3 seafood/vegetarian lunches in the villa. (Every day we will alternate between serving a communal dinner and a communal lunch. This way we have plenty of opportunity to show all the amazing traditional Portuguese and sea food restaurants around.)
